Malani K. Massey brings more than 20 years of basketball experience as a coach, mentor, and program leader to the Bryant & Stratton College men’s basketball program. Throughout her career, Massey has demonstrated a strong commitment to player development, recruiting, and supporting student-athletes both on and off the court.
Prior to joining the Bobcats coaching staff, Massey served as Director of Basketball Operations and Post-Graduate Boys Head Coach at Redemption Christian Academy. In that role, she oversaw the daily operations of the basketball program, coordinated team travel and scheduling, managed recruiting efforts, and worked closely with student-athletes to promote academic readiness, wellness, and overall success. She also played a key role in budget management, program planning, and community engagement initiatives.
Massey spent more than two decades at Redemption Christian Academy, where she also served as Assistant Athletic Director and Head Prep Coach. During her tenure, she coordinated practices, developed game strategies, mentored players, and monitored academic eligibility for NCAA and NAIA opportunities. Her impact on student-athletes has been significant, with approximately 90 percent of the players she coached going on to earn athletic scholarships at NCAA and NAIA Division I and II institutions. She has also coached multiple NBA Draft selections and made history as the first female head coach of the school’s boys prep team.
As a player, Massey was Redemption Christian Academy’s all-time leading scorer, averaging 38 points per game, and became the school’s first student-athlete to earn a Division I athletic scholarship. She continued her collegiate career competing at Syracuse University, Saint Peter’s College, and Liberty University.
Off the court, Massey has also worked as a media personality and content producer in a top-10 market, collaborating with organizations such as iHeartMedia, Turner Broadcasting, Cox Media Group, and CBS Radio.
Massey holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Religion from Liberty University.
