MEN'S BASKETBALL AT SUNY ADIRONDACK
QUEENSBURY, NEW YORK - The Bobcats play the Timberwolves on the road at 7:00 PM looking to trigger another winning streak.
Current Overall Records: Bobcats 6-2, Timberwolves 2-11
PRE-GAME INTERVIEW WITH HEAD COACH MIKE SHEWMAKER
Q. How has your team been comparing to competitive play since your last game and following a short break? A. We have had some competitive practices and taken strides in our defensive effort off the ball. A key to our success will be carrying it from practice into the game.
Q. What is a strength you have been able to rely on since season start? Obviously having the leading scorer in the country in Jamil Hood and the leading rebounder in the country in Denali Burton has been a key to our early success while we get healthy. We have also had a litany of other guys step up from game to game when their number has been called. A lot of our first year guys have been thrown to the fire so to speak and they've been able to grow up and get battle tested early in the year. That is one silver lining of catching the injury bug early in the season' It's only going to make us stranger and a deeper team in the long run.
Q. What do you know about SUNY Adirondack? A. They have won their last two games and have started to hit stride a bit. They complete hard and have a balanced attack scoring the ball with 6 of their players averaging between 9 and 15 points per game. We are going to need to limit their open looks and keeep them off the glass.
The Men & Women's Basketball teams will play at home on Sunday, December 19th in a double header against Berkely College. It will be a special evening in honor of Pat Filien's life, former Athletic Director, Head Basketball Coach and friend.
