initial Release for the baseball season
Albany, New York (January 2020) - Looking to return to the USCAA National Tournament for a 2nd time in as many seasons, B&SC will play another rigorous schedule in preparation of a hopeful bid to the USCAA Nationals.
With Head Coach Bob Godlewski leading, the Bobcats will play a schedule loaded with NAIA opponents along with their USCAA competitors. The team earned a slot to the USCAA World Series in Du Bois, Pennsylvania last year as an 8 seed, clawing their way to the top losing the championship game on the final day.
The Bobcats will kick off the 2020 season in Virginia playing three games in two days against Paul Camp CC. B&SC and will then travel to New Orleans and participate in the "Rags" Scheuremann's Memorial Tournament beginning on Thursday, February 13th. After the tournament, the team will face-off against NAIA opponents Loyola University, William and Carey University and Talladega University.
The Bobcats will return to action with their yearly southern trip that kicks- off at University of South Carolina-Beaufort before heading to the Sunshine State with a 9-game slate which includes NAIA #2 ranked St. Thomas University and 15th ranked Webber International University.
"Our schedule is a beast; we need to come and play at the highest level every time out in order to compete." Head Coach Bob Godlewski
Upon return from their Florida trip, things don't get much easier. Bobcats open up against a very talented TNXL Baseball Academy from Canada as our home-opening weekend. The last half of the season includes Fisher College (2019 NAIA Regional Team) before heading to Pennsylvania to face Godlewki's former athlete/assistant coach who now coaches the Westminister College Titans. Following the Titans, the Bobcats play NAIA perrenial power Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
Bryant & Stratton will then return home to play Fisher College once again and the team will again pack up to finish the season against USCAA opponents, at Penn State Greater Allegheny, Wright State-Lake Campus, and defending USCAA National Champions Penn State Du Bois.
Godlewski adds "We will be challenged from start to finish and as history tells me, this will make our team stronger in every aspect of the game. Hopefully this schedule will get us to the USCAA World Series once again to give our bet shot at winning the National Championship."
